Hong Kong Diary, The First Month

Hello everyone, so sorry for not being able to write for such a long time but my life was completely turned upside down when I moved to HK 4 weeks ago and there were so many things I needed to figure out, and actually I still need to. Everything is so different here from Europe, the culture, the food, the weather, work. I arrived 4 weeks ago and I had a week to adjust before I started working at my new job. During that week I was not able to relax at all. Yes, I played tourist a little bit but I had to do so many things like open a bank account, subscribe for a mobile phone contract, buy things for my room (for 2 months I will be sharing with friends, then I’ll find a permanent place). HK is a beautiful city, has so much to offer, but I have to say it’s difficult to adjust immediately. If you think NY is a busy city, then you have never seen HK. People are always in a rush, streets are busy at any time, people drive like crazy, and to complicate things weather can be very bad, with typhoons and thunderstorms. I have learned to always bring an umbrella with me, even when it’s sunny. I also keep rainboots in the office and a rain jacket. It’s so hot and humid that I can’t figure how to manage my curly hair.
Well, this is the difficult part. Aside from that, this is an incredible opportunity for me as a professional and as a person. Working in English is not easy and I am the only foreign person on my floor, but I am learning so much. I am starting to love this city, there is always so much to do and to choose from, restaurants for every budget and of great quality, the beach is so close that I can go every weekend. Many buildings have gym and swimming pool.
What I haven’t told you yet, and the best part, is that I work for a luxury retailer, so this means staff discounts!!! I haven’t bought anything big yet, just a perfume and make up. But I am waiting for the big staff sale, to which I will add my staff discount, to buy something really big like a luxury bag or a jewel.
Also for a while I won’t be able to post good pictures of my outfits because I don’t have a full mirror in my house, I’ll try and ask my friends to take pictures of me. But I promise I’ll get a big mirror when I move to the new place and start posting more pictures again. I can’ wait to show you my HK looks.

Hope you are having a great time!
Love, Fede

Almost There

Hi and Happy Friday!
I will begin my adventure in Hong Kong in 2 weeks, I'm so nervous!
I think that packing up my Milan apartment is the most difficult thing. I am renting it out to another person and I don't really like the idea of someone else living in my home.
But when I'm in HK I will have little time to worry about it.
Now I have to start thinking about packing my suitcase, and deciding what to bring and what to leave here, that's another difficult thing.
What do you think of the dress that I'm wearing? I think it should definitely come with me to HK!
I love the color, and it's so comfortable and cute.
Please forgive me if in the upcoming weeks I won't be able to post, I'll be so busy with the move, and then the first weeks in HK will be very hectic. Luckily I will have one free week there to be just a tourist and explore.
Have a great weekend!
Love, Fede

Lace

Hi everyone! So yes, I'm relocating to Hong Kong in a month! I'm very nervous and excited for what is coming up. I have so many things to do here, I have to pack up my house, decide what to bring and what not to bring. Can't think about that....all of my beautiful handbags and shoes....many of them won't fit in my luggage and will stay here... My mother will send me packages with my stuff, so there's a lot to organize. And everything while still working full time at my job. I'm getting crazy!
Well, enough for now. I wanna show you an outfit that I adore, and all of these items will come with me to Hong Kong for sure. I found these palazzo pants at Zara and fell in love with the lace top, also from Zara. This outfit can be worn both with sneakers like I did but also with sandals, it would be very elegant and classy. What do you think?
Have a great weekend!
Love, Fede

Can you guess what? I'll give you just a little hint and I'll let you guess!

Crazy...

Okay, call a doctor, I'm officially crazy. I was so in love with the Tory Burch bag I got for my birthday that I went and bought another one in red! I've always wanted a red bag, it's my first one in this wonderful color. And it was on sale on the website
What do you think? Hope you love it as much as I do.
Have a great day!
Love, Fede
