Japan: Tokyo and Kyoto

Hi everyone!

Two weeks ago I took a trip to Japan. It was 17 years since my first visit to Tokyo and I was so excited to go back and meet my Japanese friends again. These friends were my roommates during my college time at UCSD in La Jolla and we kept in touch all these years.

I went to Tokyo and Kyoto and it was amazing!

Tokyo is exactly how I remembered and it was my first time in Kyoto, it's fascinating with all the temples in the forest.

I flew with Japan Airlines which was a pleasant surprise, economy class is very spacious and food was really good.

In Tokyo I stayed at the Celestine Shiba, in Kyoto at the Granbell hotel, both highly recommended.

I really enjoyed strolling around the streets in Tokyo, eating delicious food and sweets and shopping of course. I found a silk yukata that it's absolutely amazing.

If you have a chance to visit Kyoto take your time to visit the temples and absorb the spirituality and peace that surround them.

Mother's Day Gifts For Every Budget

Ciao! How is your week going? I'm so excited for next Sunday! I love Mother's Day, every year I think about a nice surprise for my mom who is always there for me and my sister and she deserves the best. Last year I can't remember what gift we got for her but I remember that I baked blackberry muffins and she loved them (you can find the recipe on my blog here). This year my sister and I got her a nice pair of sandals because this summer she will go to Greece and she will be so elegant wearing them. A Little Bit of Red (Cyber Monday savings)

Ciao! Yesterday it was Cyber Monday! Did you take advantage of the many discounts that you could find online? I sure did! I was thinking about Christmas and this year I really wanted to wear something red but I realized that I didn't have any red clothes... So I cruised the web and found a nice and fluffy red sweater on H&M and I ordered it, it was 15% off. I will post more pics when I get it. How would you style it? I was thinking a black mini-skirt.
